Inspired by the post here and a few clients to turn this info into a hook.

 

with this hook you will gain the ability to add a google plus account to your profile (among your entire community) and if they have published an article/blog/(also works for forum post)/etc on your domain, have it add rel=author tags to their usernames. There are also settings to add a publish link tag to the head of your site as well (that links back to your own google+ page for your website).

 

You can use http://www.google.co...ls/richsnippets to verify the publish/author status for any article.
