Cells is a unique and interesting game of life and death, an old computer science favorite revisited and re-envisioned.

Cells is a pure PHP cellular automaton implementation built with the limitations of the language, typical environments, and speed of calculations in mind, and enhanced with an engaging design using configurable FontAwesome icons.

Features include:

• Configure the auto-refresh rate used when javascript is available.
• Optional Ajax Refresh when javascript is available.
• Configure which rules are in use. All well-known life-like cellular automata rules are supported.
• Configure whether the board wraps. Wrapping works well with oscillator, glider, and still life patterns, but can cause unexpected results with gun and Methuselah patterns.
• Configure the FontAwesome icon in use and it's color for alive and dead cells individually per theme.
• The 'seed' is user-input each game.
• Intentionally designed to allow sharing game state via URL, complete with full ajax history support so interesting pattern states can be easily shared.

This unique application is the first game of it's kind made for IPS 4, and will entertain and delight your users.

Road Map:

• Pending further interest I will add the ability to configure the rules in use and wrapping per game.
• Pending further interest I will also be looking into integration with an existing awards system to allow auto-rewarding users for participation in the game.
